I edited the “modes” to reflect the resolutions that I needed and voila!”

Jo, das ist bei mir leider auch so, sowohl bei Ubuntu als auch bei Xubuntu. Mandriva 2008 läuft problemlos auf 1024, kann allerdings nichts wirklich mit Ubuntu mithalten.

Ich habe nur ein Host-Interface erstellt, das reicht ja für meine Zwecke. Die Windows-Firewall habe ich zunächst deaktivert, scheint aber auch in aktivierten Zustand zu funktionieren.

Ich habe allerdings noch das Problem, dass Ubuntu in der Virtualbox nur Auflösungen bis 800×600 unterstützt. Habe schon meine xorg.conf bearbeitet aber ohne Erfolg.

Cool! Hast Du ein oder zwei Host Interfaces angelegt? Und musstest Du die Vista-Firewall deaktivieren?
